Cannes, France, is the dream city for many models. The program ‘On the way to Cannes’ follows ten Dutch models who have a chance to win the sash and crown at ‘Miss Festival du Cannes’. This election is a Dutch initiative of Carolien ter Linden, who has been organizing this international election for five years from her model agency ‘Passarella Moda’.
Carolien herself earned her spurs in the modeling world in high heels and has been a well-known face in Cannes for years during the world-famous film festival. In addition, she presents various television programs on RTL4 as well as major events for the Hilversum production house Pakkend Media.
From the Dutch selection, the winner and the 1st and 2nd Runner go up to Cannes. There they share the glamorous stage with seven candidates from other European countries. RTL4 follows the Dutch selection for 10 weeks. In this you see the participants give everything it takes to finally make the most of Cannes.
The first episode of Cannes has been so well received that Videoland has decided to include this series in its schedule. This makes ‘Op Weg Naar Cannes’ the first daytime TV program that can be seen via Videoland.
